He May Forget Birthdays, But This Valentine’s Day He Nailed It.
Imagine this: you start dating a guy who straight-up tells you he forgets birthdays and anniversaries. No gifts, no mush. Not exactly what most girls dream of, right?
Well, that was Yoni for you. Our life was fantastic, but those little reminders were always kind of…missing. On the other hand, he did bring back the coolest watch (totally Dali-esque, by the way) from his first trip to New York after we got together. Seemed awfully specific for someone who forgets everything, wouldn’t you say?
Fast-forward to 2010. We launched our epic Business Bootcamp seminars, a huge success that drew thousands of people. Yoni, the charismatic star, would be on stage for two whole days, pouring his heart out to empower attendees.
Me? I was the behind-the-scenes maestro, keeping everything running smoothly—think a three-ring circus but way more spreadsheets.
Then in 2014, during the first Bootcamp of the year, Yoni throws a curveball. He asks me to jump onstage and lead a visualization exercise – something we’d never done before. Now, who am I to argue with the boss, right?
So there I am, explaining the visualization, and…laughter? I wasn’t exactly cracking jokes that day, but the crowd was having a blast. As the applause roared, I turned around and nearly fainted. Yoni, standing on that massive stage, held a bouquet of flowers the size of Europe.
Let’s just say I was speechless. (A rare feat, believe me!) Here’s the kicker: it was February 14th – Valentine’s Day! Turns out, even the king of forgetting things couldn’t ignore the sheer coincidence (and, ahem, pressure) of a thousand attendees witnessing our story.
So, there you have it. My (not-so-traditional) love story, complete with a surprise declaration, a room full of witnesses, and the man who still forgets my birthday (but makes up for it in…unconventional ways).
It only took him 21 years to accept that even he can enjoy a bot of traditional celebrations!
