2020 – Cold Shower 30-Day Challenge.

The Cold Shower Challenge: A Journey of Growth.

For many years, I’ve embraced 30-day challenges to push my boundaries, step out of my comfort zone and grow.
In 2020, I decided to start a new challenge every month, beginning with the toughest one (for me): cold showers.

I hate the cold, and the idea of stepping into freezing water every morning was daunting.
Yet, I knew the supposed health benefits – improved circulation, boosted mood, better sleep, and even relief from chronic pain – would be worth it.

So, on January 1st, I took the plunge and invited our online community to join me.
Within a day, over 500 brave souls signed up, forming a supportive group we called “The Crazy Club.”

The first few days were brutal.
I shared daily videos of my shivering self, and others did the same, sharing tips and encouragement.

A memorable moment came in the middle of the challenge when I traveled to the Netherlands
Gerdy convinced me to take a cold plunge in the river flowing outside her house.
The freezing water shocked me, and I could only stay in for a few seconds.
Humbled, I tried again the next day, this time with more humility and determination, and managed to stay in longer, even enjoying the experience.

Vered also joined the challenge.
And although she vowed “never again” on the last day, she continues to take cold showers daily, just like me.

There were easier days and harder ones.
Washing my long hair in the freezing water was particularly tough.
Today, I still take cold showers every day but wash my hair in hot water.

The benefits were undeniable: my chronic back pain disappeared, my skin and hair improved, and I felt more awake and alive each day.
Most importantly, the challenge taught me that nothing is impossible.
Every month since, I’ve embraced a new 30-day challenge, continuing to push myself out of my comfort zone and learning to get comfortable in the uncomfortable.

The cold shower challenge transformed my daily routine and my outlook on life.
It proved that pushing through discomfort leads to profound growth and that I can achieve anything with determination and support.
