Rock Climbing as a Metaphor for Life.
During a transformative 5-day rock climbing intensive in the stunning cliffs of the Verdon Gorge in southern France, I re(learned) some profound truths about life by confronting my need for safety.
Rock climbing, especially lead climbing up to 160 meters, became a powerful metaphor for life’s challenges.
The most striking moment was climbing blindfolded, where I was forced to rely on senses beyond sight, reminding me that I often limit myself by depending on my strengths and on what what feels safe and familiar.
In that intense climb, I realized that letting go of the illusion of safety – especially in situations where real risk exists – can unlock incredible growth.
By stepping outside my comfort zone, embracing uncertainty, and even inviting it into my life, I discovered new strengths and insights.
This experience has now become a core part of my personal training, not just in climbing, but in how I approach every challenge in life.
This video captures those moments of revelation – moments where I learned to trust myself, embrace discomfort, and find joy in the unknown.
It’s a reflection of my ongoing journey, one where I continually look for overcoming my limitations and explore my full potential that lies beyond the safety zone.
