When Life Gives You Broken Tiles, Make Art.
In June 2019, our guest toilet decided to declare war against us – it was completely blocked, and nothing we tried could fix it.
After some investigation, we discovered that the ficus tree in our backyard had found its way into the toilet pipes, growing roots that blocked everything.
We knew we needed a long-term solution, so we decided to install a new pipe directly from the toilet to our Pozo Negro, bypassing the old pipe.
This meant digging up old tiles and leaving a less-than-attractive patch on the entrance path to our patio.
But rather than just fix the patch (which was a challenge – as those old tiles were not being manufactured anymore), we decided to get creative and turn an eyesore into something beautiful.
Check out the videos below to see how we turned this plumbing nightmare into something that adds life and charm to our patio.
