2007 – Goofing Around in Chinatown – San Francisco.

Sun’s Out, Phones Away!

This picture was taken on our first day in San Francisco in July 2007.

Summer was our official “fun switch” time. We used to work like crazy, 7 days a week, for months on end. Vacations? Only when the whole wide world decided to take a break – both The Netherlands and Thom’s school.

So, every year, it was a family council decision on where and how to spend the summer. We’d brainstorm epic adventures for Yoni and Thom, the thrill-seekerers amoung us, balanced with some chill time for yours truly.

2007: RV Road Trip Here We Come. That year, we decided to ditch the ordinary and rent an RV!

Imagine our rolling home, cruising down the highway from San Francisco to San Diego. We planned a pit stop at some jaw-dropping National Parks: Yosemite, Redwood (those trees are CRAZY tall!), Joshua Tree, and even the Grand Canyon (not technically California, but hey, close enough!).

San Francisco was our first stop. We spent two whole days exploring the city – it was incredible! Talk about stress relief after pumping out nearly 40 workshops a year back then! (We were after all, certified workaholics)

Naturally, one of our first adventures was Chinatown. Yoni and Thom had a blast playing around, snapping those classic tourist pics, and soaking in all the sights and sounds.

See? Summer wasn’t just a vacation, it was an adventure!
