2006 – Glen Lyon With Roy & Mayana.

Where Business Ended and Friendship Began.

Roy Martina has been a part of our lives in Holland for what feels like forever.
His friendship with Yoni has had its ups and downs, shifting shapes over the years, but it mostly stayed on a professional level.
They’d often meet to discuss business and support each other’s workshops, a testament to how collaboration in business can trump competition.
But then, in August 2006, something wonderful happened—we switched gears from business partners to friends.

For years, Yoni and I had been taking groups to Glen Lyon, one of the most breathtaking, mystical, and spiritual spots in Scotland, for week-long retreats.
When our friend Michelle sold her place there, we stopped hosting the retreats but still felt the pull of that magical place.
We wanted Roy and his partner at the time, Mayana, to experience it for themselves.

So, in August 2006, we found a rare week free in both Yoni and Roy’s packed schedules and set off for Glen Lyon.
But this time, we weren’t there as facilitators or trainers—just as friends, ready to soak in the beauty of the place and each other’s company.

It was a trip filled with laughter, deep conversations, spontaneous singing (mostly Mayana), and a whirlwind of creative brainstorming.
We revisited all our favorite spots—the Praying Hands of Mary, the “Roman Bridge,” the Hermit’s Cave, ancient Stone Circles, and the mystical mountain of Schiehallion. But what made this trip truly special was the togetherness and connection we shared, free from the usual pressures of work.

That summer will always hold a special place in our hearts.
And even though our paths have since taken different directions, Roy will forever be remembered as a friend and partner in the journey that shaped the life we cherish today.
