2012 – The Rose – My Singing Debut.

Turning a Dream into Reality, One Note at a Time.

I’ve always had a deep love for singing.
Music was my way of expressing emotions that words alone couldn’t capture. I found songs that spoke to my heart better than I ever could, and the melodies and rhythms connected me to my true self.
But there was one tiny problem—what I thought I was singing and what others actually heard were worlds apart.

At home, my parents loved to host singing events, but there was an unspoken rule: I wasn’t allowed to sing too loudly not to upset the harmony.
So, for years, I enjoyed the music from the sidelines, too shy to belt out a tune.

My love for music never faded, but my confidence did.
I turned my passion into recording visualizations, instructions, and meditations, leaving my singing voice to echo only in the shower, where no one could hear me.

Then, in 2012, I decided it was time to face my fear.
I set a big, scary goal for myself—record a CD with 5-6 songs, all performed by me.
I knew the exact songs I wanted, but the big question was: how on earth would I pull this off?

As fate would have it, Yoni had also dabbled in singing and found a vocal coach who conveniently had a recording studio.
With his support, I began the journey. I showed up at the studio two to three times a week, ready to practice and perfect my voice.

The first song we tackled was “The Rose.”
It took a whole month of blood, sweat, and tears to get it to a point I was happy with.
But when I finally heard the finished recording, I realized something—what I thought I sounded like was completely different from what the microphone captured.

It wasn’t terrible, just not the voice I had imagined.
It was a humbling experience, to say the least.
No, I wouldn’t be winning “Britain’s Got Talent” anytime soon, but you know what? I’m still proud that I gave it a go. And despite everything, I still love to sing.
