A Moment of Gratitude: A Tribute to My Parents.
In 2015, during one of my final large-scale trainings before retiring to Tenerife, I stood before an audience of over 1,000 participants.
But among them were two very special guests – my parents, who had traveled from Israel to see me at work for the first time.
My father was already battling cancer, and I felt an overwhelming urgency to express my gratitude to both of them.
I paused the training, turned to the back of the hall, and introduced them.
With tears in their eyes, they listened as I thanked them in both Hebrew and English for their unwavering acceptance, support and love.
The room erupted in applause, and during the break, hundreds of students flocked to them, hugging them, thanking them, and sharing how my work had changed their lives.
My mother later told me that this was the greatest gift I could have ever given my father – a moment of pure acknowledgment and love that touched all three of us deeply.
For me, it was a moment of vulnerability and fulfillment, a realization that I had done something that was long overdue, and I was glad to have made it right.
