2015 – Casa Alegria – Setting Intentions

Spray-Painting Our Future: The Day We Set Intentions for Our Forever Home.

In April 2014, after 20 years of renting houses in Amsterdam and Abcoude, we finally took the leap—we bought our very first home.
La Martela 6, Vilaflor in Tenerife.
Our forever home.

Of course, moving in wasn’t an overnight process.
It took a full year before we even started the real work. But when we did, we didn’t just renovate—we claimed the space.

The house was already beautiful, but we wanted to make it ours.
And since the electrical system needed to be completely redone, we saw an opportunity to replace the cold marble floors upstairs with warm, Italian ceramic tiles.
But before those new tiles went in, we did something special.

On June 12, 2015, we turned our home into a living canvas.

Armed with graffiti spray cans and a whole lot of intention, we moved through every room—meditating, feeling, setting the energy for what each space would become.
And then, in bold strokes of paint, we wrote our intentions directly onto the old marble floor.
Dreams, hopes, love, purpose—all laid out in bright letters, soaking into the very bones of the house.

Then, tile by tile, Drew and his team covered our words, but we knew they were still there, humming beneath the surface, shaping the energy of our home.

To this day, Casa Alegría isn’t just a house—it’s a living, breathing work of art.
A space infused with love, creativity, and the quiet power of intention.
A place where everything we dreamed of, wrote down, and painted into existence still glows beneath our feet.
