2009 – From the Cutting Room Floor to Our Hearts.

The Lost Gift That Found Its Moment.

In 2009, Thom turned 12—a milestone we marked in a celebration you can read about in another post.

Among the many thoughtful gestures for the occasion was a very special gift prepared by Smadi, Yoni’s wonderfully creative sister.
She poured her heart into crafting an audio-visual presentation that beautifully captured Thom’s journey so far—photos of her sweetest moments with family and friends, paired with carefully chosen Hebrew and English songs that reflected her unique spirit.

But, as life with a preteen often goes, Thom had other ideas. She firmly declared that she didn’t want the presentation shown during the party.
So, as Smadi’s labor of love remained unshared, it quietly joined the ranks of “things left on the cutting room floor.”

Fast forward 16 years. Thanks to Smadi’s impeccable knack for preserving memories in all the right places, we recently unearthed that long-lost gem.
Sitting down to watch it now was like opening a time capsule—a precious reminder of the incredible child Thom was and the seeds of the extraordinary woman she has grown into.

Looking back at those photos, it’s clear the essence of who Thom is today was always there.
Her curiosity, her unstoppable energy, her determination, and her undeniable spark.

Though the presentation didn’t make its debut back then, it holds a special place here, reminding us (and her) just how remarkable she’s always been.
Some gifts aren’t meant for the moment—they’re treasures waiting for the right time to shine.
