A Daily Dose of Love, One Newsletter at a Time.
In 2014, as Yoni and I prepared to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, he surprised me with an idea that turned out to be one of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received. Two days before our anniversary, Yoni decided to start a new project.
Over the last 20 years, he had channeled his creativity and talent for writing into work for others—students, clients, and anyone who needed his words.
But he realized something: he had never really used that talent for me. And that, he decided, was about to change.
So, he launched a brand-new newsletter, one with a highly exclusive audience: Me.
In the very first edition of what I called The Daily Love Newsletter.
Yoni explained his motivation: “By taking a few minutes a day to focus on US, it brings me more clarity on what is truly important in life.”
That first message moved me to tears. It wasn’t just the act of writing—it was the deeper meaning behind it.
He was reminding me that he saw me, that I mattered, and that I wasn’t being taken for granted.
Each day, I eagerly awaited the next installment of his sweet (and sometimes lengthy) declarations of love and commitment.
As any good subscriber would, I wrote back! I shared my thoughts, feelings, and gratitude for his words.
Little did we know how much this small daily ritual would mean to us both in the weeks ahead.
On December 20, 2014, my dad suffered a stroke.
Suddenly, I had to fly to Israel to help my family, leaving Yoni and Thom behind in Amsterdam.
For months, I was living out of a suitcase, caught in an exhausting whirlwind of Tel Aviv-Amsterdam flights, juggling work, Thom’s needs, and the emotional weight of my dad’s new limitations and my mom’s worsening Alzheimer’s.
In the chaos of those overwhelming months, Yoni’s daily newsletter became my lifeline.
No matter how heavy the day felt, his words were like a warm hug wrapped in pixels, reminding me that “ALL IS WELL” and encouraging me to trust that life, even in its toughest moments, unfolds as it should.
By the end of April 2015, on April 30 to be exact, we both felt the project had fulfilled its purpose.
It had been our anchor in stormy waters, but now it was time to let it rest.
However, its legacy didn’t end there. For our 23rd wedding anniversary in November, I decided to honor Yoni’s beautiful gift.
I gathered every one of those newsletters, added some visuals, and created a physical notebook—a tangible keepsake of love, resilience, and connection.
The examples you see here are scanned straight from that notebook because, as life goes, the original digital files were lost in one of our many computer decluttering missions. The scanning process wasn’t perfect—our old, bulky scanner struggled with the thick notebook pages—but I kind of love the vintage vibe it gives the final product.
This project, born from Yoni’s creativity and love, became more than just a collection of words.
It was our daily reminder of what really matters in life: showing up for each other, even in the smallest of ways, and finding light in the darkest of moments.
