Mongol Rally: Georgia to Azerbaijan Madness!
Buckle up for a whirlwind 60 seconds, because this one’s a wild ride from Georgia to Azerbaijan!
The clip kicks off with a few scenic road shots through Georgia’s countryside, everything peaceful, rolling hills, and sunshine… until – BAM! – we hit the border with Azerbaijan, and that’s where things get spicy.
Cue the “Welcome to Azerbaijan” sign, which might as well say, “Good Luck, You’ll Need It!” Oh… it actually says “Good Luck”.
Why, you ask? Well, the video might gloss over it, but behind those few seconds lies a 6-hour border crossing nightmare of paperwork, confusion, and drama that would make a soap opera look like a kid’s show.
But for that juicy story – check out the second video…
Onward we go, cruising into Azerbaijan, and we’re greeted by colorful food stalls and a much-needed dinner at a local spot.
Food? Amazing.
The adventure continues as we roll into the harbor, eagerly (and naively) waiting for the ferry that would eventually take us to Turkmenistan.
Now, here’s the kicker about the ferry: you never know when it’s leaving.
It could be today, tomorrow, next week… who knows?!
So there we were, rally teams from all over the globe, camping out for the night at the harbor, swapping stories, and nervously hoping we’d get a spot on board.
And then – success!
We’re on the ferry!
But don’t pop the champagne yet…
Mother Nature wasn’t on our side, and a storm stopped the ferry dead in its tracks in the middle of the sea for a few days.
With no more food onboard and rations dwindling, we made the most of it – chatting, sleeping, playing cards, and living off whatever snacks we could muster.
It wasn’t luxury, but it was one heck of an adventure – the true Mongol Rally spirit, living through the chaos!
Stay tuned… the next chapter promises more chaos, more fun, and yes… more rally madness!
