Lessons from an Epic Journey Across Half the World.
In the summer of 2019, I embarked on what can only be described as a wild, no-holds-barred adventure.
Picture this: driving halfway around the world – from Tenerife to Mongolia, and then onto Siberia – in a “shit-mobile,” named Diana.
No GPS, no set route, no common language with the locals – just a deep dive into the unknown.
It was the kind of journey that screamed get out of your comfort zone!
I expected to learn about resilience, to be challenged in ways I’d never imagined, and to discover things about myself I hadn’t even thought to ask.
And I did.
But the biggest lesson, the one that hit me hardest, was about the generosity of strangers.
Throughout this epic journey, Alex and I crossed paths with countless people – many of whom had very little by any material standard.
Yet, these were the ones who showed us the most kindness, the ones who gave freely and without hesitation.
It wasn’t just about sharing food or shelter; it was about the spirit of giving, of connection, and the pure, unfiltered generosity that transcends borders, languages, and cultures.
The experience taught me that no matter how daunting the road ahead might seem, there is always light in the kindness of others.
The video below is just a glimpse into the magic moments we encountered, but for me, it’s a reminder of the abundant generosity that exists in the world, often found in the most unexpected places.
